In order to meet the needs of local businesses; and to facilitate meter consistency in Bankers Hill, UCPD is proposing several changes from 4th to 6th Ave, from Elm to Upas. The primary change is shifting meters and time limited parking spaces from 2-hour time limits to 4-hour time limits.
The currently proposed 4 hour zone, (as highlighted by Figure 1 to the left) would encompass 4th Ave & 6th Ave, from Elm to Upas, and 5th Ave, from Elm to Kalmia/Spruce to Upas. 5th Ave between Laurel and Spruce would remain as 2-hour time limited parking.
As currently proposed, the scope of work would include:
-Converting 441 meters from 2-hour to 4-hour time enforcement.
-Converting 62 time limited parking signs from 2-hour to 4-hour time limited enforcement.
-Adding 51 new 4-hour meters.
-Adding 9 new 2-hour meters.
