Hillcrest is a vibrant, diverse community that sits in the hills south of Mission Valley and north of Balboa Park. This eclectic neighborhood has become the center of LGBTQ life in San Diego, and is home to San Diego Pride, San Diego LGBT Pride, Scripps Mercy Hospital, and the UCSD Hillcrest Medical Center. There are a wide variety of shopping and dining options located along University Avenue, a Landmark Cinema, and a broad choice for nightlife.

While these factors make Hillcrest a desirable neighborhood for residents and visitors alike, they are also contributing factors to one of the most parking impacted communities in San Diego

For more information on UCPD initiatives in Hillcrest (and on how you can participate), please feel free to visit our sister page, Access Hillcrest, download our Park Hillcrest App, or email UCPD Hillcrest Project Coordinator Marc Marconi at Marc@ParkUptownSD.org

UCPD is working with community partners like the Hillcrest BID and the Hillcrest Town Council to provide parking relief through several different programs.  Most prominently is the Hillcrest Lunch Loop, a free shuttle service that runs Monday through Friday, providing employees from local businesses the ability to access some of San Diego’s finest dinning without needing to search for parking.  UCPD also rents the local DMV parking lot for weekend visitors to Hillcrest.
